A table had to be included comparing my understanding of each program at the beginning of the semester with my new level of understanding at the end of the semester.

In music class, I was given an independent assignment to analyze the film score in the movie, Psycho.
If you think about most horror movies, there is a distinct piece of music that the audience can easily identify. The most famous cue in music history, the shower scene in Psycho, is the one piece of music nearly everyone instantly recognizes. Initially, Hitchcock did not want any music for the shower scene. However, Hermann wrote it anyway, and after hearing it, Hitchcock thought it was too good to abandon.
Hermann was looking for a black and white sound to complement the film’s black and white photography. He uses only the string section of screeching violins in his film score, starkly complementing the movie’s visuals.
